crying isn't so bad after all.

you will never know how much it hurts.

Jesus, take the wheel...

i've learnt not to talk so much, and just stay in the background. (partly cos i have a really bad sorethroat) it kinda works. you get to hear less of yourself, and just observe the surrounding people. just be quiet and observe. notice i didn't say judge. just observe, and the snide comments can be avoided. i've learnt also that if i want to shut out from the rest of the world, i could, but it would make life more miserable. y'know, you must learn how to draw the line, when to allow people to come in, and when to shut people out. its tough, but sweet.

sometimes i feel like giving up. going for prayers on friday night-they seem like a routine. maybe cos i've got nothing to do on friday nights? planning for cell after school every friday-every thursday i'll msg people to come, and only 5-6 people turn up. every thursday night i'll remember,"crap! haven't think of songs yet." and along with my books, i have to lug a heavy guitar. going for PCM, it seems like i'm wasting a whole afternoon, not learning anything. and my mom obliges me to go.

whoever said the christian walk was easy... nobody said it was easy. it's supposed to be tough to mould you to become more Christlike. really, all i need now is encouragement. it would brighten up my day a whole load.

you are LORD.

In moments like these we need to trust the Master. We can each rest in the knowledge that God is sovereign over our life's situation. No matter where we are today or what mistakes we've made in the past, He has given us everything we need to glorify Him now.

living to glorify God means doing everything...
for Him,
His way,
to point to His greatness
and reflect His goodness.

- Joshua Harris in "Boy meets Girl"

God can give, God can also take. God can make, God can also break. but ultimately, the sole purpose of our lives is to follow His will, not what we want for ourselves. we must learn to accept circumstances. because we know all these work for the good of those who love him, who are called according to His purpose. so when God takes away, or God breaks, know that He has your interests at heart, because He created you. He wants the best for your life. if you really love God, do what He says. don't be selfish and live life the way you want it. God paid for your life with a price. a heavy one at that. so live for Him. too many people are so caught up with enjoying themselves that they forget God.

He died for you, will you live for Him?

you have a gift to love and give, but you need wisdom to see who to give it to and how much. use this time to rest in God. don't strive, just rest. give it all to him and you will see God move. you will see God working. He is building a character in you. no more striving, just rest. and to rest, you have to be still and know that HE is GOD.

i'm glad i have older people to look to, who can give me more insights on life problems. spiritual support is super important. thank God for wisdom.

surrender is still a daily struggle for everyone. it is for me too, but we all can overcome this. because Jesus overcame the world, we now can overcome anything, for we are more than conquerors in CHRIST JESUS!

i will boast in nothing, but in the Lord my God.

the hardest part is letting go, not taking part. SURRENDER TO THE CREATOR.

we fall down, we lay our crowns
at the feet of Jesus.
the greatness of mercy and love
at the feet of Jesus.

we cry holy, holy, holy,
we cry holy, holy, holy,
we cry holy, holy, holy,
is the lamb.

surrendering is never easy. surrendering is never nice. unless you surrender to the one who loves you the most. who will do everything to prosper and bless you. that's what i call sweet surrender. you just know that God will take control of everything. stop worrying, joash. even if you lose it all, you still have God! if you ever forget that God is in control, just take a look around you and see. all of creation are God's works. creation reveals the creator. ain't it beautiful when you see the blue sky, fluffed up with clouds... and the trees, swaying in the breeze... or the fish, swimming in the endless ocean. sunrise, sunset, snow-capped mountains, God's creation is endless! and it's indescribable. so why worry when God can take care of everything?

learn to let go, joash.
let go, let God.

i'm proud to say that i've been positively influencing alot of people. (: and i'm boasting not in my works, but in the Lord my God. that he has done such a mighty change in me. i was once a very very bad boy, like all the bad words and all, but now i'm changed. another challenge for all of you, which i posed to classmates, churchmates, and devotion partners ;)

taboo words which displeases God
-d.a.m.n
its a word of condemnation.
word of replacement:very
-s.h.i.t
its so crude and just...not right.
word of replacement: shoots/faeces
-f***
its the most vulgar one btw. a taboo in society and in God's eyes.
word of replacement: sharks(better, don't even use any!)
-h.e.l.l
maybe this doesn't seem bad to you, but its bad.
word of replacement: heaven?
-d.i.e/s.c.r.e.w.e.d
the power of life and death lies in the tongue, so unless you want to die, stop saying 'die already la!'
word of replacement: don't even use it!

in the gospel of matthew, it states that out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks. so whatever you say reflects whatever you're storing in your heart. if you keep storing rubbish, there's bound to be rubbish flowing out of your mouth. and in psalms 24, it says that those who have clean hands and a pure heart, and who does not lift their souls to another, will ascend the hill of the Lord. so do you wanna be a history maker? it all starts with the heart and thoughts. think about it, my friends. take care! (:
