a weird yet familiar sense of nostalgia ran through me as i walked the 'streets' of Changi airport. past the gates and rows, we finally reached row 9. as we were approaching, the dustbin at the side caught my attention and i contemplated throwing away the leftovers of my mocha frappucino from starbucks. the heck with it, i threw away remains of the whipped cream, which initially was at the top of the grande cup, now sunk to the bottom. the boy in a brown long sleeve polo t-shirt, another familiar face, one which we saw every day in 2004, now only once a year. he used to be the shortest and smallest built in 2C, but now, after 2 years in Australia, he's grown vertically, yet stayed slim from the horizontal perspective. taller than most of us now, he's a grown man, with a driving licence, and a heart that's burning for God. we shook hands, patted him on the back as he, the lone ranger, walked into the gates all by himself, with us watching by the glass panels. Au revoir, my friend, Lawrence Goh.
